President Biden Remains Out of Public View at Rehoboth Beach Following Shock Withdrawal from 2024 Race and Covid-19 Diagnosis

President Biden seems to be taking his recent political defeat in stride, though it appears he’s been keeping to himself.

Since his unexpected exit from the 2024 race, the president has been notably absent from public view.

He hasn’t made any appearances for the past six days, opting instead to recuperate from a Covid-19 diagnosis at his home in Rehoboth Beach.

Biden is set to return to Washington, D.C., on Tuesday afternoon, marking his first public appearance since stepping down.

The announcement of Biden’s departure from the Democratic ticket sent shockwaves across the nation.

He made the decision to step aside public with a statement on X (formerly Twitter), but since then, very few have had any contact with him.

Despite his reputation for maintaining close relationships on Capitol Hill, many of his allies have reported not hearing from him.

This silence has fueled speculation online, with some even suggesting that the president might be seriously ill or worse.

House Democratic leaders, including Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and prominent figures like Rep. Ted Lieu, Rep. Maxine Waters, and others, have all noted a lack of communication from Biden.

Waters, a staunch supporter, expressed her disappointment initially but later supported Biden’s endorsement of Kamala Harris.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has chosen not to comment on her private conversations with the president.

Conspiracy Theories and Confirmations

Amidst the swirl of conservative conspiracy theories, which have speculated about Biden’s health, there has been some reassuring news.

Biden participated in a campaign call with Harris and promised to support the campaign.

Although he’s canceled his upcoming fundraising trips to California and Colorado, he is still expected to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later this week.

Biden’s Ongoing Support

Rep. Robert Garcia, a Biden campaign surrogate, spoke with the president and described him as gracious and in good spirits despite his illness.

Rep. Steven Horsford, co-chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, confirmed that Biden’s voice was notably scratchy but sounded positive during their last interaction.

During a recent campaign call, Biden addressed his staff and reassured them of his commitment to supporting Harris, acknowledging the efforts they all put into his campaign and the tough decision to step down.
