They undertook a remarkable 757-kilometer trip to mark the president’s 38 days in office.
Support for the Tinubu-led Government
The tricyclists stated that they traveled for over 17 hours to demonstrate their support for the Tinubu-led government.
Babatunde Olisah, Chairman of the Ajah branch of TOAN and one of the riders, explained in an interview with Daily Trust that their visit aimed to celebrate the president’s 38 days in office and seek his assistance for Nigerian youths, specifically tricycle riders.
Overwhelming Experience and Support
Olisah described the journey and the solidarity they received throughout their route from Lagos to Abuja as overwhelming.
He urged the president not to disappoint them, emphasizing the significance of his support for the tricycle riders and the nation’s youth.
The Journey and its Costs
Providing details about the journey, Olisah stated that he, along with his colleagues Akintade Temitope and Ahmed Bolaji, purchased brand new tricycles for the trip.
They covered a distance of 757 kilometers, spending over 17 hours on the road.
They incurred expenses of approximately N100,000 for fuel, making stopovers at Ijebu Ode, Akure, and Ore before reaching Abuja.
Their primary purpose was to commend President Tinubu and seek his support for the country’s youth.
