The newly appointed individuals include Salisu Muhammad Kosawa as Special Assistant (SA) on Social Media, Zulaihat Yusuf Aji as SA Broadcast Media, and Rasheedat Usman as SA Secretariat.
Other appointments consist of Dr. Sani Danjuma as Senior Special Assistant Administration, Bello Nuhu Bello as SSA Administration II, Najeeb Bashir Nasidi as SSA Domestic I, Dr. Abdurraman Kirare as SSA Domestic II, Safwan Garba as SSA Special Duties, Abdulkadir Balarabe Kankarofi as SSA Protocol, and Salisu Yahaya Hotoro as SSA Social Media.
Additionally, Ahmad Aminu Yusuf serves as the Personal Assistant (PA) for Domestic affairs, Ahmad Muhammad Gandu as PA Videography, Isa Muhammad Giginyu as PA Photography, and Hassan Kabir as PA Social Media.
These appointments were announced through a statement released by the governor’s Press Secretary, Bature Dawakin Tofa, in Kano.
The statement clarified that the appointments took effect immediately.
On another note, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Baffa Bichi, provided an explanation regarding the demolition of the Tumbin Giwa roundabout at Kano Government House.
According to Dr. Bichi, the roundabout was demolished due to the presence of a Christian cross, which conflicted with the state’s norms, values, and Islamic teachings.
This action faced criticism, as it involved the removal of structures constructed by the previous governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
The Kano Government received particular backlash for the demolition of the symbolic Tumbin Giwa roundabout, which held significance for the state’s Golden Jubilee.
Dr. Bichi further revealed that another flyover in the state displayed a Christian cross and would also undergo the same fate as the roundabout.
He emphasized that such symbols contradict the customs and teachings of Islam, in addition to causing traffic congestion and accidents.
Dr. Bichi asserted the intention to reclaim all misappropriated state lands, citing concerns over the establishment of businesses and shops in residential areas and places of worship.
He called for the removal of belongings from these inappropriate locations, highlighting that sufficient notice had been given beforehand.
