President Tinubu Leads Guard of Honour on 2023 Democracy Day

…By Jack Sylva for TDPel Media. To commemorate Democracy Day 2023, President Bola Tinubu is currently overseeing a Guard of Honour ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Joining him at the event are prominent figures such as Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives Femi Gbajabiamila, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume.

The gathering also includes the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, former Zamfara State governor Bello Matawalle, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and APC Secretary Senator Iyiola Omisore.

This distinguished assembly adds to the significance of the occasion.

Accompanying the President are Chief of Defense Staff General Lucky Irabor, the service chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, and various senior security and government officials.

Notably, Ambassador Babagana Kingkibe, the running mate to the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993, Presidential Election, MKO Abiola, is also present.

His presence serves as a poignant reminder of the historic significance of that election day.
