On Wednesday, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, conducted an official handover of office to the newly appointed SGF, George Akume.

The handover took place at the SGF office situated in the Three Arms Zone of Abuja.

This event marked the formal transfer of responsibilities and documents from the outgoing SGF to his successor.

Swearing-in of George Akume as the New SGF

President Bola Tinubu administered the oath of office to George Akume, officially appointing him as the new SGF during a ceremony held in the council chamber.

This swearing-in ceremony signified the commencement of Akume’s tenure as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

Handover of Documents and Handing-Over Note

During the handover process, Mustapha handed over important documents to Akume, including a comprehensive handing-over note.

The note encompasses a broad overview of the structure and functions of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).

Mustapha explained that the OSGF consists of five offices, each headed by a Permanent Secretary, who directly oversees the supervision of 16 agencies operating within the Presidency.

Guiding the Incoming SGF

Mustapha also briefed Akume on the activities of the Office and emphasized specific pending matters that require the attention of the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

By providing this guidance, the former SGF aimed to ensure a smooth transition and enable Akume to effectively assume his new role.
