Arrest of Suspected Yoruba Nation Agitators

As reported by Naija News, the state Police Command apprehended five individuals suspected to be Yoruba nation agitators for hijacking the radio station early on Sunday.

These agitators proceeded to make their own broadcast, proclaiming their separatist agenda.

Denial of Association and Peaceful Stance

In response to the incident, Professor Banji Akintoye, through his spokesperson Olatunde Amusat, issued a statement disassociating his Yoruba group from those responsible for the hijacking.

He emphasized that their struggle for a separate nation has always been peaceful and law-abiding.

The group had previously cautioned against engaging in criminal activities.

The statement further revealed that the Ilana Omo Oodua group has formally communicated their legitimate demand for self-determination of the Yoruba nation to the outgoing President of Nigeria and the UN Secretary-General.
