…By Lola Smith for TDPel Media. A man from Illinois, Jack R. Blanke, was arrested last week after he was caught having intercourse with a horse on a farm near the town of Quincy.
The 39-year-old was charged with one count of unlawful sexual contact with an animal as well as criminal trespass and faces up to three years in prison.
Officers from Adams County Sheriff’s Office alleged that it wasn’t Blanke’s first time to have sex with the horse, and they suspected him of having done it around a dozen times before.
The officers discovered Blanke standing on a five-gallon bucket and feeding the animal apples while he was “performing coitus.”
Blanke was caught trespassing on the local farm by patrolling officers who had been patrolling Deer Ridge Road in Melrose Township just after midnight on Friday.
During his first court appearance, Judge Tad Brenner alleged Blanke had “placed his penis inside the vagina” of the horse as he read the felony charge.
Assistant Public Defender Sarah Lucey reportedly requested the judge to lower Blanke’s bond from $2,000 to $1,000, claiming that he only receives $1,000 a month from his disability allowance and that $700 of that is used to pay his rent, leaving him “precious little for food.”
Lucey also claimed that Blanke suffers from heart disease and had experienced dizziness while being kept in Adams County jail.
Lucey stated that Blanke had “no criminal history whatsoever” and had “stable housing.”
However, Judge Brenner agreed with the $2,000 bond and ordered the suspect to stay away from Deer Ridge Road.
The case highlights the phenomenon of zoophilia, which is a sexual attraction towards animals.
Zoophilia is considered illegal in most countries worldwide, including the US, where it is classified as animal abuse.
Individuals who engage in such activities may face criminal charges and imprisonment.
The case also raises concerns about animal welfare and safety, as animals can suffer both physically and psychologically from sexual abuse.
