The Niger State in North Central Nigeria, is to benefit $15m from the World Bank to advancing various Women Projects.
The Spokesperson of the Governor Mary Berje said the Niger State was selected to represent States in the North Central part of Nigeria for the project, while Ogun State will represent the South West, Abia for South East, Akwa Ibom for South South, Kebbi State for North West and Taraba to represents North Eastern part of the country.
“Over 64,000 rural women are to benefit from the 15 Million US Dollars set for the project,” Berje stated.
The project categorised into four, aimed at improving the well-being of the less privileged and rural women across the state.
Berge said; “The livelihood programme is designed to provide grants, collective livelihood, building social capital, innovation and partnership.
”
Guerra, Agaie and Wushishi local government areas, have been selected across the 3 Senatorial zones of the state for the Pilot scheme of the Project.
