Twelve districts of the City of Cape Town will be without electricity from Tuesday, February 15 to Sunday, February 20 as routine maintenance on the metropolitan area’s electrical infrastructure continues.

The City of Cape Town advised residents to switch off appliances at the wall ahead of the outage to reduce any potential damage from power surges.

“The supply could be restored at any time, therefore residents should remember to treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the interruption,” said the City in previous statements.
