A 32-year-old mother from Gilgil in Nakuru County has made news after poisoning her three children and then killing herself.
The woman, who was married to a KDF soldier stationed in Somalia, left a suicide note explaining why she chose to kill her young family.
The woman said in the note that her husband had decreased her monthly payment from Sh18, 000 to Sh10, 000, according to Gilgil Sub County Police Commander Henry Mbogo.
“[In the note] she had accused her husband of reducing her monthly stipend due to infidelity,” Mbogo said.
It also emerged that last month, she had called her husband through a video call and threatened to kill her children.
She was arrested and questioned by the police and later arraigned in court.
Her kids were then taken to a rescue center.
However, her husband returned to the country and withdrew the case, leading to her acquittal.
On Friday, she poisoned her kids and then hanged herself.
