According to Deji Adeyanju, an Abuja- based Human Rights Activist, the likes of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and their rival, the People’ s Democratic Party, PDP, do not have any intention of zoning the 2023 Presidency to the South East.
The issue of zoning the 2023 Presidency to the South East region has been one that is very contentious and might Continue to be so until both Political Parties carry out their Presidential Primaries before the 2023 Presidential election.
The South East region of the nation has been quite vocal about the issue of zoning with the likes of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo stating that 2023 was the turn of the South East to produce the next President of the nation.
While the likes of PDP and APC have not concluded on that matter wether it would leave the race for the Presidency wide open or zone it to the South East that has not prevented some persons from declaring their intentions for the nation’ s most coveted political position.

According Deji Adeyanju, the South East should not bother about Presidential zoning as the likes of PDP and APC are not considering it.
In a report by Daily Post Nigeria, Deji Adeyanju reportedly wrote on Thursday, February 3rd, 2022, that ” Equity demands that power should naturally go to the South East.
