Imagine the joy of fans when they hear their favorite singer, Umlilo vocalist Rethabile Khumalo, is finally back home from the hospital.
Last week was a rollercoaster of emotions as her mother, Winnie Khumalo, who is also a renowned singer, reached out to fans, pleading for prayers.
Rethabile was fighting for her life, and the news was heartbreaking.
Winnie Khumalo disclosed some shocking details: Rethabile had been poisoned by someone she considered a friend.
Over six harrowing days in the hospital, Rethabile endured three surgeries and faced the prospect of yet another one.
Winnie kept the severity of the situation quiet initially but felt it was only fair to update Rethabile’s supporters on her condition.
“So I thought I will keep quiet until my daughter is okay… She is fighting for her life… She has been poisoned by a so-called friend.
It has been six days now in hospital… They did 3 operations on her already.
We are hoping that @rethabile_rsa will soon recover, but at the moment, it doesn’t look good.
She has been on and off…
When you pray, please include her in your prayers… The hardships of being a parent,” Winnie shared emotionally.
A Mother’s Plea
Winnie also posted heartfelt messages on her Instagram stories, urging Rethabile to keep fighting, especially for her young son.
“Fight, your son needs you.
We all do,” she pleaded, highlighting the emotional toll this ordeal has taken on the family.
Legal Steps Ahead
In a conversation with the popular celebrity gossip account Maphepha Ndaba, Winnie confirmed that a police case would be opened regarding the poisoning incident.
This step is crucial as they seek justice for Rethabile.
Home Sweet Home
In a heartwarming update, Winnie took to Instagram on Wednesday to share the good news: Rethabile is back home.
She posted a picture of a radiant Rethabile, fresh from a hair appointment, with the caption, “Thank you for your prayers, love, and support.
Rethabile is back home.”
The 27-year-old singer, who welcomed her first child, Culo, in December last year, has a long road to recovery ahead but is surrounded by love and support from her family and fans.
