Banning Plastic Materials: Federal Government’s Stand
The Federal Government has declared that the prohibition of certain plastic materials is unavoidable.
This announcement was made by the Minister of State for Environment, Iziaq Salako, in a statement issued on Tuesday, January 24.

Exploring Alternatives and Policies
Salako further disclosed that the ministry is actively examining policies and initiatives geared towards promoting the production of alternatives to plastics.

Expressing concern about the current unregulated and indiscriminate use of plastics, Salako stressed the need for immediate action.

As an interim measure, he advised individuals to adopt deliberate environmental actions, such as reducing and reusing plastics, and explore the expanding market of recycling for plastic waste.
