Garba Applauds Supreme Court Decision
Former presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba, has responded to the confirmation of President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the 2023 presidential election.
The Supreme Court recently dismissed the appeal filed by the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, against President Bola Tinubu’s election.
In a unanimous verdict delivered on Thursday, the court ruled that Atiku’s appeal lacked merit.
Garba’s Perspective on the Supreme Court’s Ruling
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Garba expressed his perspective on President Tinubu’s victory at the Supreme Court, regarding it as a win for the maturity of Nigeria’s democracy and its citizens.
He called for a statesmanlike response from Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, urging them to accept the Supreme Court’s judgment and extend their support to the Tinubu administration.
Garba emphasized the need to shift the focus from court cases to governance and nation-building, encouraging Nigerians to work collectively in upholding the integrity, dignity, and respect of the country and its Constitution.
Garba’s Concluding Remarks
In his closing statements, Garba acknowledged President Tinubu’s victories at various stages of the electoral process and urged the opposition to transition from the political contest to a period of governance.
He urged unity among Nigerians in supporting President Tinubu’s leadership, stating that it is in accordance with the will of God.
Garba also expressed his expectation of a statesmanlike response from key political figures, Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, and called for their support for the government and people of Nigeria under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership.
He concluded with a blessing for the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
