Banker Van Eck On the Upper East Side, Marc Louvet destroyed posters.
Now that he’s on leave, the company claims it’s probably going to dismiss him.
Kelly and Noah Schaffer vandalised posters at Dumbo’s Brooklyn Bridge Park.
Kelly had previously worked for a programme in city schools, and Noah was a magician.
Three recent vandals in New York City have been identified as a French banker, a magician from Brooklyn, and his teacher-wife.
They have been ripping down posters of Israeli kid prisoners.
This past weekend, all three of them were seen tearing up posters of the missing children who were kidnapped by Hamas on October 7.
They are part of a larger movement of pro-Palestinian activists who are removing the posters from New York and other western cities.
Today, they can be identified as Brooklyn residents Kelly and Noah Schaffer, as well as 45-year-old financier Marc Louvet, who was employed by the investing firm VanEck prior to the public release of his film this past weekend.
Louvet, who owns a $1.7 million apartment with his Middle Eastern girlfriend on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, was caught on camera being approached after removing the posters.
“Where are the people of Palestine?” “What about the Palestinians?” he spat back, flinching when some Jewish men questioned him about taking down the flyers.
Louvet has been placed on leave until the outcome of a legal investigation, VanEck confirmed today.
The company claimed that it plans to dismiss him shortly.
“We were just made aware of a video that shows an employee being confronted for tearing down posters depicting Israeli hostages in Gaza.”
VanEck does not in any way promote such remarks or acts, nor does it condone the conduct of terrorists.
Such remarks are upsetting and detrimental to our Israeli coworkers, friends, and family, as well as to the company.
The firm released a statement saying, “We are looking into the incident’s details and our legal options regarding the employee, who we have placed on immediate leave and expect to terminate.”
Louvet did not reply to questions from DailyMail.com.
His since-deleted social media accounts were primarily populated with pictures from his romantic beach vacations with his fiancée, devoid of any political content.
After demolishing another set of posters, Brooklyn “magician” Noah Schaffer and his spouse, city social worker and activist Kelly, were confronted in a different video.
Kelly held the posters tightly in her hand and said nothing as she was approached.
Then, her husband began to laugh at the Jewish woman who had approached them, telling her, ‘We don’t agree to you filming us.’
The two, who reside in a Prospect Park South flat worth $900,000, then left.
In the past, Noah was employed by the Upper West Side magic and dinner show A Taste of Magic.
Noah, he said, had not contributed to the group’s work in a year.
The producer declined to provide any details on his recent behaviour, saying, “A Taste of Magic has no association with him or his recent actions; he hasn’t worked here for over a year.”
His spouse, Kelly, was formerly employed as a social worker at New York’s Urban Dove, a public school programme.
After being detained in New Jersey during a demonstration against ICE outside the Bergen County Jail, she is included among demonstrators on the website “antifa watch.”
It’s unclear what Noah works on these days. Kelly was employed by Urban Dove, a school programme.
Additionally, the two have erased their LinkedIn and social media profiles.
They join an increasing number of students and pro-Palestine demonstrators who have been caught on camera tearing down posters depicting Jewish captives from the city.
Since the beginning of the war, NYC Mayor Eric Adams has been unwavering in his support of the Jewish community.
Since the bloodshed in the Middle East started, there have been several sizable pro-Palestine demonstrations in New York City, but none have turned particularly violent or disorderly.
Sara Ramirez, the non-binary star of And Just Like That, participated in a rally this past weekend and waved a transgender flag in spite of the fact that Palestine and Hamas uphold sharia law, which forbids homosexuality.
